TTPC First Quarter Report
Over the first three months of 2014, the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition has:
Participated in the United ENDA campaign in support of the Employment Non Discrimination Act and opposed attempts to remove gender identity or expression from employment protections.
Participated as a co-plaintiff in Howe v. Haslam to defend the right of local the rights of local governments to adopt non discrimination legislation.
Lobbied members of, and candidates for, the Tennessee General Assembly in favor of hate crimes legislation, safe schools, and equal rights for all LGBT persons.
Held Statewide Winter Meeting in Nashville on January 25.
Participated in Creating Change Conference in Houston, January 29 to February 2.
Spoke at Leadership Nashville Diversity Day on February 6.
Spoke at  Out in Front Cconference at Vanderbilt University in Nashville on February 8.
Participated LGBT in the South: Advocacy Within and Beyond the Law, in Asheville, North Carolina, February 28 to March 1.
Spoke at Tennessee HIV/STD Meeting organized by the Tennessee Department of Health in Nashville on March 6.
Participated in Advancing Equality Day on the Hill, organized by the Tennessee Equality Project, on March 11.
Spoke at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, on March 13.
Spoke at Tennessee Democratic County Chairs Association Conference in Clarksville on March 15.
Appeared on Pumps and Politics on WTNTribune Radio.com on March 17.
Held joint reception with the National Center for Transgender Equality in Nashville on March 22.
Upcoming for Second Quarter 2014:
Will participate in the Day of Action Against Deportations in Knoxville and Nashville on April 4 and 5.
Will participate in panel of trans health issues at Meharry Medical College in Nashville on April 9.
Will participate in H8′s a Drag: Love TRANSforms Fear in Nashville, April 11 to 13.
Will participate in the Transgender Day of Empowerment Ceremony in Ferndale, Michigan, on April 26.
Will participate in P-FLAG Tennessee/Kentucky Conference in Nashville on May 17.
Will participate in TransOhio Trans and Ally Symposium in Columbus, Ohio, May 30 to June 1.
Will participate in Upper Cumberland Pride in Cookeville on May 31.
Will participate in Nashville Pride on June 14.
Will participate in Knoxville PrideFest on June 21.
The Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition (TTPC) is an organization designed to educate and advocate on behalf of transgender related legislation and policies at the Federal, State, and local levels.  Founded in 2003, TTPC is dedicated to raising public awareness and building alliances with other organizations concerned with equal rights legislation.
